Good film. The male journalist (I forgot his name) actor is almost unrecognizable from his role in Narcos. The film was not melodramatic. It was not trying to preach.

People may complain about the fact that this film focuses on the journalists but I think the focus is really on Jessie. She goes (downhill IMHO) from scared and unsure to being able to look at her mentor's death dispassionately. Not the best of trajectories.
Touche! Jessie eerily reminded me of Jake Gyllenhaal's character Lou in the thriller "Nightcrawler", where ruthless ambition drives a journalist to prey on the innocent bystander instead of remaining neutral, intervening and meddling with the scene of a crime, or battlefield, in order to get the picturesque shot that no one else could muster up in the real world. Media exploitation and opportunism at its worst. My goal for this music video was to depict the journalistic sensationalism explored in "Civil War" to the extreme. As if depicting the hellishness of war through the lens of a war journalist wasn't shocking enough as it is.

I could easily picture Cailee portraying Ellie. If only she were 10 years younger, as the character is a 14-year old girl--although Cailee does look very young for her age (25).

As a suggestion, you may need to watch this film more than once as the first time I viewed it I thought it was a conventional action thriller. This is the first I've heard of or seen this film. Looks like an amazing film and acting by Cailee, who I hadn't know about before.
The first time I saw Caillee was in "Bad Times at the El Royale" where she plays the younger sister of Dakota Johnson's character. She had a small supporting role but did well. Thanks for watching, Ron.
